A COMEDY OF ERRORS It was a Tempest of confusion involving Two Gentlemen of ... aw ferget it, I don't have time to continue this clever usage of Shakespearean play titles, if you want to imagine some, go ahead As You Like it. Solo emailed the directions to the start to the hashnet, but they never reached the masses. The illustrious weblord Wrong Way has determined the cause - Act of God. The abandoned hounds left a note at 87 Prospect for the beleaguered Solo informing him that we were driving to his house with Delay Lllama's cellphone in hand - hoping to come across marks on the way. In fact, the Geezer was 50 yards from the true trail when he stopped the caravaan to investigate some mysterious white paint marks, but no Solo droppings were sighted. Thank goodness, as the marathon-running hare was once again setting a 2 hour-plus true trail that would have had us out well past sunset. He needed his exercise anyway. Arriving at 264 Grandview, the hare's desolate abode, Joy to his Mother drove off in search of marks. Unfortunately, he also had the flour brought for our hares and hounds alternative. As we waited impatiently, Ken V. bagged the hash (probably the most boneheaded act amidst many) just as Hey Yo Pauly headed off to live hare with about 7 lbs of flour from RoJo's trunk. After promising him 10 minutes we left to follow after 7 and were lost after 3. Pauly cleverly set a back check (though it sure looked like a regular check to us) which the pack didn't come close to understanding, (since we NEVER use them). After fifteen minutes of searching in vain, the pack went barrelling onward down the road and to the railroad tracks figuring we could circle around and pick up marks - but that clever Pauly pulled a U-turn and all was lost -- until the cell phone rang and Solo informed us that in our wandering we were within 1/4 mile of picking up his trail at the halfway point - leaving us a good 1 hour of running through the hills of Skillman. But now where had Joy to his Mother and Pyroman gone?! Were they those two dots vanishing away in the distance down the rr tracks?! Our screams of On On to no avail, we were off to follow Solo's marks. Of course when we hit them we didn't know which way to go, but that was a minor obstacle at this point. The rest of the run was enjoyable but far less eventfull than the shennagins at the start. After plodding hill and dale for an hour or so we came upon the Solo mobile. He was unable to find Joy, Pauly or Pyro so he left a note on Pauly's car (attached to those who can download attachments, with Pauly's comments in black magic marker). Back at Solo's house it was discoverd that Pyroman and Joy had circled all the way back to the start and intersected Pauly's trail, following it with screams of On On almost all the way to the end (the last bit was tough because it was set without any flour). (Joy & Pyro, if you want to elaborate, please do.) Pauly, Solo, Joy and Pyroman didn't seem too disheartened by the sequence of events and the rest of us were rather pleased when we realized that we had managed to rid ourselves of those meddlesome marathon runners for a day -- though our efforts to lose Speed Bumps failed.
