Little did these hashers know that the trail led not into the beautiful woods, or across the beautiful lake via the crumbling dam, or even into the spooky confines of the Deer Necropolis, but out onto Mountain Ave. "They just didn't get it," said a source who prefers to remain anonymous, "the trail didn't go anywhere pretty. She fooled them all." After 10 or 15 minutes of fruitless searching, the hounds finally responded to a call of On-On, probably from one of the rookies, who could not be expected to know any better. The trail led unswervingly down Mountain Ave., then onto a pseudo-pipeline. The nefarious hare followed at a discreet distance, giggling all the while. You should have seen the look on her face when The Man flipped on the lights and sirens right behind her. "Am I going too slowly? Too fast? Are the hounds going to jail? Who's going to consume all the crappy beer and Imitation Tostitos (TM)?" Much to the relief of all involved, The Man had somewhere More Important to go. The trail led uncreatively through somebody's back yard, up to Rosedale, through The Subdivision Dropped From Mars (West), onto 206, up a private drive (what, no Drumthwacket?) to the Battlefield. From there, it was a hop (hot?), skip, and a jump to the On-In at the Lawrence Apartments, where Wacko shared the smell of his shirt with all of us (whatta guy!). All rookies were present and accounted for. Haircuts, Carnivores, and The Birthday Madam The Apres-Apres at the Geezer's was a roaring success. Even Mrs. Geezer might have liked it. All of the necessary components of a Summer Hash Cookout were reported: - The Madam, sweaty and spandexed; straight from the brothel, apparently - terrible Clinton jokes courtesy of the LLLama, who was emerging from Boy Scout withdrawal - weird vegetarian food (which, surprisingly, was not met with vituperative amertume, much to the dismay of the weird vegetarians) - a haircut - a naked hosedown of the aforementioned haircut victim (what are friends for?) - a rousing duet rendition of the immortal (so far) Tom Lehrer's theme song to the film version of Sophocles's immortal tragedy, Oedipus Rex - a bit of a swim NEXT HASHES: #614.4: Saturday, July 05, 1997, 11:40 AM, Meet at the Dinky Station #615.4: Wednesday, July 9, 1997, 6 pm, 87 Prospect, Solo Sets #616.4: Wednesday, July 16, 1997, 6 pm, 87 Prospect, Pyroman sets #617.4: Wednesday, July 23, 1997, 6 pm, 87 Prospect, A Joy to His Mother #618.4: Wednesday, July 30, 1997, 6 pm, 87 Prospect, VOLUNTEERS ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- To subscribe to the Princeton Hashnet, email the message subscribe phhh to the address majordomo@cdiprinceton.com Post messages to the Princeton Hashnet by emailing to phhh@cdiprinceton.com and don't forget to check out our Web Page http://members.aol.com/phhh ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------------------------------------------------
