PRINCETON HHH HASH #512.4 (founded by Joe "Hop-along" Burns in 1958) Date: June 28, 1995 Weather: Just too nice Venue: East side of Route 1 from just South of Raymond Road to just North of Stouts Lane - up to Whispering Woods and looping back. Time: 1:03 Set By: Dry Martinez and My Lips Are Seals Hashers: The Milkman, Wacko, Safe Sweats, LRF, Andy Collins (2), Jay "Hot Lips - Rectal Exam" Shendure, Hey Yo Paully, Trash Can Rookies: Cathy "Milkmanspal" Cukras, Jeff "Lipspal" Moriarty NO COPS - NO PITBULLS - NO HARM - NO FOUL Dry Martinez and the one with Lips of Seal approached their sophomore venture with some trepidation after summoning the Plainsoro SWAT team on their maiden voyage. The police squad converged upon us just in time to keep Inbred Fred (Tennessee Jed) from sicking "Jowls" (his wife) on us. Possibly over- reacting, they decided to dive deep into jungle, so deep, in fact, that they obviously didn't know where the hell they were. Machetes might have been well used on this adventure as the LRF and Safe Sweats refused to enter the overgrowth, circling around instead, befuddled by the almost stagnant cries of On On emanating from within but rarely seeming to move anywhere. Forsooth, all were surprised indeed to see either the Sweaty Safer or the Fancier of Reptiles there at all, considering their recent disdain for the Princeton Hash, so it was not a surprise that they chose to avoid running with us at all possible turns. Alas, who can blame them. Even the Geezer and RoJo didn't show up this time, the former stopped by a mere virus and a rebellious calf muscle and the latter stopped probably more than anything by the prospect of waiting around two-and-a-half hours after work to hang out with likes of us! But not to worry, as a new crop of promising rookies has emerged, and the resurrection of Hey Yo Paully has added an unusual spice to the mix. No one really wanted to jump into the initial mud puddle on this trail, and indeed we all found our own easier crossing sites, but to no avail as the trail found a luscious creek-turned-mud to traverse early on. No problem for veterans of the "Ditch", but for an unsuspecting rookie, like CC, it proved to be a shoe-sucking calamity; she lost her left, and nearly pulled a Bono swandive for an impromptu facial, much to the entertainment pleasure of the pack. The jungle march then began in earnest, and continued with occasional pauses for all to regroup. Head counts were the order of the day. First 10, then 9, then 8 as one by one hashers were lost. The rest of the pack would race to claim the missing. Deep in the heart eventually we realized that Andy was nowhere to be seen and all we could hear were the persistent cries of "Are You?!" from Safe Sweats who was circling the woods like a vulture in heat. Andy eventually emerged, mumbling something about extracting himself from a thorny situation. He joined us as we trotted into the apres and awaited the LRF, who drove up wondering why we never made it to Whispering Woods. Lack of cups saved the rookies from their appointed rounds, but we'll get them next time.
