Princeton HHH HASH #498.4 (Founded by Joe "Hop-along" Burns in 1979) Date: March 19, 1995 Weather: Spring is here Venue: Etra Lake - West Across Rte.33 - Ended at LFBB's new home in Twin Rivers. Time: 1:53 Set By: LFBB Hashers: Dry Martinez, 242, Wacko, My Lips Are Seals, Ro Jo, Eyesore, The Madam 1ST Princeton Hash: Maria -- veteran of Indonesia hashing BETWIXT TWIN RIVERS Hmmmmm. Why such a shotty turn out? Despite the small numbers the pack was eager to enjoy an excellent spring day marauding about Etra Lake and Twin Rivers in new terrain. Unfortunately, tragedy struck early on. Shaken by his recent run in with Judge "YOU'RE A MENACE, YOU'RE GOING TO JAIL" Rzeminiski, Wacko panicked when a cop pulled up as the pack was meandering behind a chainlink fence and took to the hills, fleeing without regard to trail, fearing he would spend 10 days in county lock-up with the rest of the lowlifes he saw in traffic court. Without the Geezer's counteracting ability to suck hashers behind him in his wake, the entire pack joined Wacko far from the true trail in search of marks continuing from what turned out to be mythical arrows. This hopeless excursion did provide a unique experience in Princeton Hashing, one that has not occurred in 500 hashes! Faced with a "No Trespassing" sign that boasted "Violators will be shot, Survivors will be prosecuted" and the close proximity of the police, Wacko actually asked !!!AND OBTAINED!!! permission from a homeowner to run through her field to the woods beyond!! What an experience. Later, after LFBB finished a conversation about family and kids with the friendly cop, he came round looking for the hapless hounds and was being accosted by a kid in a pick-up truck about trespassing when Wacko got to come up and say, "WE HAVE PERMISSION", pointing to the kind woman doing yard work who waved back. The youngster was totally flummoxed. Wacko pushed his advantage. "Actually, if you could give us a lift in your truck, we'd really appreciate it." And so the whole pack piled into the flatbed and off we went. Ooooops, did I say, the whole pack... where's Ro Jo (just back from a climb of Kilamanjaro that we hear was almost as difficult as the hard core hash) and 242. Oh well, they're nowhere to be seen. LFBB will have to come back for them. (Unfortunately, they were AWOL for the rest of the day, or fortunately perhaps, as huddled together at the start for a cold 60 minutes waiting for the return of the others they apparently had a chance to explore some virgin territory of their own!) The flat bed truck ride was a nice pick-me-up as we were already 30 minutes into the hash having seen a total of say 12 marks of what would turn into close to a 2 hour hash. Police gone, the rest of the trail was easy enough to follow -- offering some interesting sights along the way, the most notable of which was My Lips Are Seals catapulting himself out of a briar infested wood after he and Dry Martinez realized that this was NOT a short cut. Also skirted was an ominous looking swamp with tentacle-like trees and a Suburban Transit bus cemetery.
