Princeton HHH HASH #497.4 (Founded by Joe "Hop-along" Burns in 1979) Date: March 12, 1995 Weather: Excellent -- obviously Safe Sweats had no control over this Venue: One Square Mile North of Province Line Road and West of Rte. 1 - Started at the NE corner - ran to the SW corner - ran to the NW corner - ran back to the SW corner - ran back to the NE corner - ran back to the SW corner - ran back to the NE corner - a mark was then observed - but only after the hare pointed it out - Wrong Way and Solo then ran back to the computer center (their peculiar mental deficiencies proving to be valuable assets on a Safe Sweats set) - the rest of us ran back to the SW corner, and then down a 1 mile false trail (the only clear marks of the day) along the canal going south toward 295 - and then we ran 2 miles back to the Big Blue Van at the NE corner, i.e., the start. Time: 1:37 (the last 3 miles of which were solid running) Set By: The Inimitable, Inestimable, Ineluctable Safe Sweats Hashers: Dry Martinez, Trash Can, 242, Wacko, My Lips Are Seals, Big "Damion" Steve, Wacko, 006, The Madam, TFM, Wrong Way, Solo, Hand Job, Cheyenne New Boots: Lainie "006's Friend" Follow The Geezer (reprise) (sung to the tune of "Pop Goes The Weasel") The Geezer put down Safe Sweats to set, And then he left the country. Can't wait until he returns to the hash, "Pop" Goes the Geezer! What happens when you don't... PRACTICE SAFE SWEATS! Obviously Safe Sweats doesn't, as his hash was fraught with "gone-awry-a" and "Sisyphus", as perhaps Big Steve put best, after cinching his ordained hash name of "Damion" by resurrecting himself for the back-to-back tribulations of the Lllama and the Sweat Man, and Yes! Geezer, anarchy prevailed in your absence, you who ran off in fear of the SS to the Axis Powers, cringing in your hotel room amidst the flagging dollar where your yearly salary no doubt couldn't buy two grapefruit let alone a six-pack of Kirin, we did christen Damion without your seal of approval, using Dolce's lips instead, complain and perhaps we will indulge 242's suggestion of leaving you alone the next time Safe Sweat's "sets", a term one must use loosely, to flail about alone in a tiny patch of overhashed countryside for an hour and a half in vain search of flour marks as distinct as flour on ice is from snow on ice, a search that would have been worthy of another Indiana Jones sequel, what for the swallowing swamp, slippery incline and notorious bridge encountered 4, count 'em 4 times, as the twelve actual marks observed were all within 50 feet of each other, what the mystic Safe Sweats interpreters believe involved a hairpin turn ending in an arrow, tucked neatly away to avoid the possibility of being seen, and then after 50 minutes of meandering the hare was kind enough to mutter incoherencies of shortening the trek signalling a direction somewhere near 1 o'clock on the dial, relieving us of Solo and Wrong Way who incredibly believed that this walking example of crib death was cognizant enough to offer worthwhile advice, yes, Geezer, leave you without 242 and his random walk technique of checking, which salvaged us as we discovered him somewhere neck deep in a swamp off near 9 o'clock croaking "On On", allowing us to end the day with some running, straight down the tow path for a mile to 2 F's and then back to the start... when he said, [what, difficult to follow this thought train which runs on and on and on and on with arcane rhyme and elusive reason, but stirs vague painful memories] after scrambling in some ten minutes behind the others, "So, the whole thing was a false, right?!" Next Hashes: EYESORE!! I'm switching you with Dry Martinez! Is that alright?! He cannot set on April 2. Hash #498.4 March 19, 1995 2 pm, LFBB Hash #499.4 March 26, 1995, 2 pm, Dry Martinez et. al.
