PRINCETON HHH HASH #489.4 Date: January 15 , 1995 Weather: Vague Venue: Burnt Head School Circuit Time: 0:45 Set By: Louisiana Reptile Fancier Hashers: RoJo, Delay Lllama, Mark W., Geezer, In Up To His Waist, Wrong Way, The Madam, 242, Safe Sweats (repaired version), Iceman, Eye Sore, Likes It, Joe D., Frank S, Matt A., Craig W., Hand Job, Ed M., Throatwarbler First to Cooler: Joe Burns School Daze Description, polemics, comments, and lies: The LRF took over at the last minute from Little Fragile Broken Bone who claimed he was having a baby. LRF shook off his football-induced torpor long enough to give us a 45 minute loop de loop around Burnt Hill School. Not too bad when you consider that a pack of 19 swarms through the woods and fields like some giant, all-consuming amoeba, devouring marks as it goes. This style allows crafty vets to range widely, and it was no surprise that at about the 12 minute mark 242 found the in-trail and could have lead us all right back to the cooler. Indeed, at the 2 minute mark Throatwarbler had stood 50 feet from the end as he gazed vapidly into the woods. Neither of these stalwarts had the wit to persevere, and the rest were left to find their way in more or less the usual fashion. Speaking of Throatwarblers, here is the always exciting.... Avian Intelligence Report: 1. About 20 wild turkeys were sighted near the start. 2. A flock of robins was seen last week. 3. The New York Times (1/17/95) reports that owls are eating poodles in Maine. GO OWLS! What else happened? Not much, to be honest. There were thorns, there were construction sites, there were stream crossings. There were no shootings. At the apres, In Up to His Waste told us of his plans for the 500th. Or at least he planned to tell us. Next Hashes: #490.4 Sunday, January 22, 1995, 2 pm, Geezer sets. Apres at New Delhi, 6 pm.
