PRINCETON HHH Hash #435.4 DATE: Sunday November 28, 1993 SET BY: Geezer HASHERS: LRF, Wrong Way, Wacko, Art, Ron, Ro Jo, Dead Barney (his last), Sleeper, LFBB ROOKIES: Tom "Barney's Friend" WEATHER: Blustery , Unseasonably Warm , Post-Torrential Downpour VENUE: BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OO RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG Kingston Shoprite - Out toward Rocky Hill on the road - Back to Kingston on the tow path - Ended behind the Winepress.... can you believe it?! BORING BEYOND BELIEF To his credit, the Geezer finally managed to set a hash in which the marks did not get washed away. This despite one of those torrential, Sunday morning downpours that so tickle the late-rising hounds. It is at this point, however, that all credit ends, and the abuse must begin. Mind you now, this is not a pleasant job. Far from it. Indeed, it's rather sad that after 14 years and 300 hashes the leader of the Princeton Hash, our revered Grand Master, our mighty icon, is capable of such utter ineptitude. So should we jump on him with the abuse he so justly deserves? Of course we should, but abuse doesn't always come easy. Sure, if another set such a totally boring, mindless, incompetent, clueless trail on territory this familiar, if another drove us past the Geezervan on the way to the start so that half the hashers knew where the end was before we had begun, if another had continually formed such tight loops in the trail that the veterans had to conspire with the hare to mislead rookies in a (failed) effort to keep them from short-cutting off the entire hash, if another had followed this lame charade with endless whining, wynging excuses and complaints ("You cut off the best loop!", [can you believe he actually said that?!]), if another provided such mild salsa, if another did any one let alone all of these things it would undoubtedly inspire loathing, enmity and allusions to Effross. But when it's the Geezer, when it's our symbol of all that is base in the hash, of all that is mud and blood and prickers, of all that is vile, deceitful, unyielding, and vituperous... etc. etc., alas, it is then that a sickening feeling rises within us suggesting that perhaps there truly are no more heroes. And so I make my stand. I will not abuse the Geezer. No. Not today. No more than I would abuse Lawrence Taylor when he can't catch Boomer Esiason from behind. No more than I would abuse Solo when he runs an extra 15 miles at the end of a hash while the rest of us are already into our second bottle of salsa. No more than I would forget to mention Dead Barney in some completely arbitrary manner in the newsletter after his last Princeton hash. No, the Geezer will not be abused today. Not by me. Nuh uh. However, if anyone has an idea as to how we might lock him up in a small room with Mr. Fluffy, Ross Perot and Rush Limbaugh for about 16 hours I think I might really be up for that.
