THE COOK UNNATURAL AREA REDUX 

	Dimly, ever so dimly, it dawned upon the vets in this mini-group that Kahne 
was going to run us through the Unnatural Area yet one more time. The only serious 
questions were: 
	(a) How many times would he force us through the indescribably evil Ditch of 
Slime that runs through the Unnatural Area?
	(b) How many tough checks would there be?     and,
	(c) What were our chances of finding the cooler in the 30 acre field of belly-
high elephant grass at the end?
	The answers are all the same, zero, zero and zero.  In the first instance he 
didn't know it was there; in the second he was too gentle in the set, and in the third he 
decided to make up for (b).  So we had a nice romp through fields and paths before 
emerging on Raymond Road for some miserable pavement pounding through dreadfully 
dreary condos decrepit before their day, destined to deny all delight within, instead to 
direct their desparate denizens to their drab and diminished destinies.   But there was 
one saving grace to this part of Kahne's otherwise pitiful second set.  At the end of the 
pavement, clearly separated from the common folk by a portal set in an immense wall of 
brick topped by razor wire lies Cook Manor, the Lair of the Lord of the Unnatural Area.  
Never before has the Princeton H3, laden as it is with folk who think nothing of setting 
through back porches and who routinely check living rooms, run through these 
forbidding gates.  Nice touch, Dan.
