PHHH #1074.9 Date: January 2, 2006 Hare: CVC Hounds for 1 hour and 40 minutes: Delicate Psyche, Sjorn Dork, HYP, and Loren Hounds for 11 min: Geezer and Discomfort Venue: Princeton (87 to behind weepee's abode, to P. High to Mountain Lakes, to pipeline to 206, to new construction site to woods behind nice houses, more pipeline, shiggy, 206/Pike (again) to golf course to Grad School, to Apts. to OnIn Apts. Weather: SuperSoggy, we all got heavier and heavier as the hash went on. Notable Events: * Shortest hash of the year for Geez. and Disc. * Longest Hash of the Year for HYP, Sjo. Dorque, Loren, & Deli * Orange chalk was the demise of the hash - for some reason the oversurplus of flour (leftover after hash) was reserved by using chalk, which faded instantly. Why is he saving flour - he's outta here 1/3/6! We wish him well. * Longest hash of the year for Geez. and Disc. * Shortest Hash of the Year for HYP, Sjo. Dorque, Loren, & Deli * Watered down Coacoa served at 505 (some letter) Lawrence Apts. * HYP used a manual hand blender to stir the coacoa, the discussion was something to the effect that this device doubles as a marital aid. * 80 proof Navy Brandy and/or Conyak was added to coacoa. * Chocolate coins, chips, salsa, liverwurst pat-tay, teawurst, and toasted German bread from Canada were injested. Good, a little warm, Dinkle Acker was drunk. * After much drink/eat/discussion, Delicate made his own with week old (breast) milk - it was much better, but a little lumpy (just like mom used to make!). This from Geezer: The Geezer, having run ca. half a mile on pavement seeing no marks on an "on" trail - Moore St. - cut parallel to the pack expecting the trail to go that way .... it was getting cold there were no orange marks extant the geezer's glasses were fogged up anyway my feet were wet, he whined very old bones hate, repeat, hate - pavement after 30 min or so so it was Sayonara, Yokazunas, and home again home again, jiggity jog Gzr And this from Discomfort: No short cutting or short hash on my part. I was the 3rd wave, running back to car at 4:30. Early on in hash I followed Geezer down Moore St., as the hare said that was on, and the Count went to collect those who had gone towards the cemetery. My mistake thinking that practice and age granted Geezer wisdom and ability to find a trail. I continued following Geezer past the hospital, and up Witherspoon, and manged to catch him up near the cemetery, when he told me he wasn't running on trail anyway. I headed back towards Moore St., and Geezer shortcutted home. After a mile long cut, I found and lost trail numerous times, covering parts of Westminster College, Princeton High, Community Park, Witherspoon neighborhood, Mountain Lakes (almost every path on it) then Elm St. and soaking wet, gave up and headed for cars. A suggestion used in hashes in other countries to help those who make bad long cuts to catch up-- carry a small amount of flour (usually in one of those drink containers that has the pull-out nozzle) and put arrows at checks, and occasionally at other intersections as needed. I seemed to check wrong every time, and sometimes still never found the flour. Good luck in N. England, Count Comfort
