PRINCETON HHH HASH #1010.9 Date: October 17, 2004 Weather: Cool and clear Start: West Windsor Post Office On-In: West Windsor High School South (not that you would have known) Set By: Weepee Time: Who knows, longer than necessary Hashers: Safe Sweats, HYP, Geezer, Pyro, Speed Bumps, Homoerotic Tic Checking, Forrest DNF: Safe Sweats, HYP, Geezer, Pyro, Speed Bumps, Forrest Another day, another debacle We should have taken Pyro's advice. After two minutes of running around the post office parking lot looking for marks he called On-In. Instead of just calling it quits then, we continued or fruitless search for marks while the hare looked on and offered no assistance. Finally picking up the trail we headed back into the woods, across the Amtrak tracks and encountered our first team-building exercise, a fence. Despite the hare's assurances we would need to help each other over, everyone just climbed over themselves. At about this time several high speed passenger trains passed through, raising questions as the the safety of the trail. We ran around a development for a while, up some hills, found a few double-cross arrows, the usual. Back over the fence, back across the tracks, more trains and a beer check. The hare kindly offered his custom blend of hot chocolate, but seeing as it was warmer than expected most hashers declined. Then things fell apart. 1/4 of a mile down the trail Pyro twisted an ankle and headed back with Bumps. The rest of the pack made their way through the woods to North Post Road and along the road to a check at the corner of Ward Road. And then... nothing. No marks anywhere. Copious searching by multiple hashers yielded only an irate dog. Guessing it might be an A-A we looped back to the start, but to no avail. Geezer took off in disgust. HTC proving once more that undergrads have too much energy and not enough brain cells returned to the nefarious check and through a stroke of luck spotted a single mark 1/2 a mile down Ward Road. From there it was a straightforward run through the woods until meeting up with the hare and jogging to the On-In. After a brief discussion of the preceding debacle HTC and Weepee returned to the start where the On-In was held in typical fashion. One hash after the millennium, and already things are going downhill. Next week - Someone sets (volunteers?, Tropical Depression?) HTC
