West Windsor Community Farmers' Market

Nearly forty farms and vendors are represented with offerings including seasonal Jersey Fresh produce, mushrooms, sustainably caught seafood, poultry, pastured eggs, freshly milled oats, pickles, sauces, jams, fresh pasta, goats milk products, cheese, breads, baked goods, pastries, pastured meats, vegan savory and sweets, Lebanese salads, Eastern European favorites, Indian simmer sauces and prepared meals, alpaca fiber wear, vegan chocolates, pesticide-free flowers, as well as on-site food trucks with crepes, fresh pressed juices, hot and iced coffee and teas.

Held at the Vaughn Lot at the Princeton Junction Train Station, with plenty of free parking, this gathering space for folks who love good food is known for its wide assortment of offerings and welcoming atmosphere.

Tour de Towpath, D&R Canal Watch

Fifty years ago, on October 10, New Jersey Governor Brendan Byrne signed legislation to create the Delaware & Raritan Canal State Park, a 70-mile linear park in Central Jersey that is the second most visited state park.To celebrate the anniversary, the nonprofit D&R Canal Watch has organized a walk-run-bike event called Tour de Towpath, centered at Cadwalader Park in Trenton, on Saturday, October 26. Arrive between 9 or 9:30 for the 10 am start. 

The Tour de Towpath will feature a flagship 50-mile bicycle ride to Colonial Park in Franklin Township, as well as a 20-mile cycling route to Princeton's Turning Basin Park, a non-competitive half-marathon run/walk to Washington Crossing State Park in Hopewell and a 5k fun run/walk. A festival at the City of Trenton's Cadwalader Park will greet participants upon their return with music, food trucks, and a community village featuring local non-profits. All pre-registered volunteers and participants will receive an event T-shirt. To register or donate, visit the event website at TourdeTowpath.org. Canal Path Walk, Turning Basin Park

Pumpkin Palooza! ACP

Join Pezz Glassworks for live glass blowing demonstrations and learn how they transform molten glass to create beautiful blown glass pumpkins and more. Bring the family for kid-friendly science activities: the Princeton University Molecular Biology Outreach Program will show you how to extract DNA from pumpkins, and the Princeton University Chemistry Graduate Student Organization has tons of spooky, sciencey fun in store!

“Preserve or Perish: 18th-Century Food Preservation", Rockingham

On Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., Susan Plaisted of Heart to Hearth Cookery returns (cheesemaking and ice cream programs) to the Rockingham barn to present “Preserve or Perish: 18th-Century Food Preservation.” Techniques for food preservation will be discussed and presented via actual preserved products, with limited hands on, and augmented with Power Point pictures. This is an on-going program that can be visited at any time throughout the afternoon and for which registration is not required! The event is free, but donations to Rockingham are always welcome!
