Enhancing the Trail Experience at Northern Community Park, Friends for the Abbott Marshlands

This is a trail maintenance/stewardship project. A variety of trail enhancements will be the group’s focus, from brushing back vegetation with loppers and hand clippers to clearing a new segment of the trail. Bring water, work gloves and loppers or hand clippers if you have your own. (They will have gloves and tools, but can use additional if volunteers can bring them.) A Walk For Wellness, Interfaith Caregivers of Greater Mercer County

5th Annual “Rebels & Redcoats Classic Car Show”, Washington Crossing Historic Park (PA)

Car lovers can attend the 5th annual “Rebels & Redcoats Classic Car Show” on this day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. In keeping with the park’s revolutionary history, this show will feature only classic American, French, British and German cars, representing the four major countries involved in the Revolutionary War. The show will be held in the parking lot diagonal to the park’s Visitor Center and across River Road. This event is free for spectators. Car owners who would like to register their cars should visit WashingtonCrossingPark.org/events.

Bordentown Bluffs Ramble Hike, Friends for the Abbott Marshlands

Saturday, June 3 is the Bordentown Bluffs Ramble, 10 am–12 pm; this is a fairly easy 2-mile hike that will head to the bluff above Crosswicks Creek. There will be several must-see expansive views of the Abbott Marshlands. Many native plant and tree species will be seen along the route, along with lichen, mosses, and possibility of hawk or eagle sighting. This hike is for adults or families with supervised children. RSVP (required) at marshtrails@abbottmarshlands.org.

Park and meet at Stanton Avenue (off Route 206 South) trail head. See map at https://tinyurl.com/yc7v7rzz. Optional: bring water bottle, camera and binoculars for the view; wear sturdy footwear and dress for the weather. Can be windy at this location.

Princeton Community Pride Picnic

Kick off Pride Month with the Princeton community on the green space of Palmer Square as we gather to celebrate inclusivity, tolerance and acceptance at a joyful family-friendly event. Enjoy live music featuring Sarah Donner and School of Rock Princeton, learn to be a "hoop star" with Angela from Color Me Hoopy, participate in creating a collaborative community art project, take part in a variety of activities and go home with fun giveaways. Families are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy on the grass or to purchase a lunch from one of the many food establishments on Palmer Square.

Mayor Mark Freda along with other local dignitaries will be in attendance and local nonprofits will have tables with activities and information for attendees. Stay tuned for updates. Rain Date: June 4

Sunset & Birding Networking Event, The Watershed

We welcome environmental advocates and enthusiasts to join us for Sunset & Birding, a networking event designed to give diverse, young adults an opportunity to enjoy cocktails, Dominican food, and conversation on our recently opened fully accessible Hickory Boardwalk. Together, we can empower each other to continue the important work of addressing environmental issues while building a strong, diverse, mindful, and lasting support network.

Consider carpooling to the event with friends, families, co-workers, and fellow advocates near you so we can help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and protect our environment. We also appreciate safe driving to and from the event. Designated drivers will receive a 15% discount. Please note that discounts will automatically apply at checkout for a Designated Driver ticket.
