Sophie Glovier, assistant policy director of The Watershed Institute, speaks about the new challenges Princeton faces with flooding due to increases in extreme storms and increased storm water runoff from continuing development. Learn about this unique collaborative effort among town, gown and the Watershed Institute, and what you can do to help in your own backyard.

Princeton Farmers’ Market

Princeton Farmers’ Market summer market season will take place at the Dinky Train Station parking lot (adjacent to Princeton Wawa) and will run from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., on Thursdays through November 17. The market will be accepting SNAP/EBT, and thanks to the Good Food Bucks program they will match eligible customers SNAP transactions up to $10 per market day! Volunteer Info Session, CASA

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for Children of Mercer & Burlington Counties is currently seeking new volunteers! CASA is a non-profit organization that recruits, trains and supervises community volunteers who speak up in Mercer County Family Court for the best interests of children that have been removed from their families due to abuse and/or neglect and placed in the foster care system. Our volunteers strive to ensure the emotional, physical and educational well-being of these children.

Sisters with Transistors Screening and Discussion, Morven Museum & Garden

You're invited to a watch party of the 2020 documentary Sisters with Transistors, celebrating the music, work, and lives of the visionary women who pioneered electronic music. Laurie Spiegel, groundbreaking composer and computer programmer who worked at Bell Labs in the 1970s, is scheduled to appear for a virtual discussion following the screening.

This program will be hybrid, offered both in-person and online. Doors open for in-person event in the Stockton Education Center at 6:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. For virtual attendees, a Zoom webinar link will be shared via email prior to the event. The museum will be open from 5:00 to 6:15 p.m. where you may meet the curators of the exhibition Ma Bell: The Mother of Invention in New Jersey, Elizabeth Allan and Jesse Gordon, inside the galleries.

Sourland Conservancy's 2022 Train Station Series

Every Thursday at 7:00 PM, starting September 22nd, join them for a series of seminars on a variety of fascinating topics, from native plants to local history. Advanced registration is required, but attendance is free. Donations are welcome! 

Cemetery Journeys on the Sourland Mountain (Thursday, October 13): Join Cheryl Jackson, of the Hopewell Valley Historical Society, to discover some of the things she has learned along her cemetery journeys. Learn about gravestone art and symbolism, along with their meaning, and some impressive examples of local colonial stone carvers and local stone cutting companies. Hopewell Train Station
