Great Strides Walk for Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

Great Strides, an annual walk happening around the country, which supports the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, is taking place on Sunday, May 15 at 11:00am at Montgomery Veterans Park on Harlingen Road in Montgomery. It's a great family event. There will be a DJ, and other activities, including, of course, a 3 mile walk. You must pre-register to attend. Register here.

132nd Anniversary Concert, Blawenburg Band

Program including marches, medleys, overtures and patriotic music. Major selections include The King and I and Rogers and Hart Medley by Richard Rogers, Intermezzo from Caballeria Rusticana by Pietro Mascagni, the world premiere of Winter Sunrise by band member Samuel (Skip) Livingston, and traditional and contemporary music dedicated to the citizens of Ukraine. Free; donations welcome.

Spring Concert, Sharim v'Sharot's Choir

On May 15th at 3 PM Sharim v'Sharot Foundation will feature Sharim v'Sharot's Choir in its first full-length concert since March 2020.

Location: 1958 Lawrenceville Road, Adath Israel Congregation in Lawrenceville. Tickets: $15 by May 13th, @ sharimvsharot.org, or sharimvsharot@gmail.com; $20 at the door.

Hear two world premieres, commissioned for Sharim v'Sharot, alongside many of our favorite songs! We will sing harmoniously, a cappella and accompanied, in English, Hebrew, Yiddish, Ukrainian, French, Ladino and Hebrew. We shall offer the world premiere of Benjie Ellen Schiller's "Sim Shalom," and Steve Cohen's "Amarai HaAzina," (Psalm 5) with the amazing Paul Cohen on the conno-saxophone! This is a not - to - be- missed treat!

An English High Tea, Arts Council of Princeton

Treat yourselves to a unique experience courtesy of Samira Ghani, known for her popular Instagram blog Slice of Gourmet. Each elegant station will represent a country's traditional beverage (and assorted bites) including English High Tea, Greek coffee, Arabic Mint Kava, and Pakistani Kashmiri. As an added bonus, stations will include literature about the country's beverage customs. Wear your best hat and come hungry! Proceeds benefit the Arts Council's commuinty programs.

Annual Gala, D&R Greenway Land Trust

D&R Greenway Land Trust is pleased to announce local bird and conservation advocates, Hannah Suthers and Sharyn Magee, as recipients of the land trust's 2022 Donald B. Jones Conservation Award (s). The award ceremony will take place at the annual Greenway Gala on Sunday, May 15, 2022, 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the beautiful Hillside Farm in Hopewell, NJ recently gifted to D&R Greenway by Betty Wold Johnson's family in her memory.

Sponsorships are available from $500 - $5,000. Individual Ticket Price is $200. Admission is by advance ticket or sponsorship purchase only by May 5 at www.drgreenway.org or by calling 609 578-7470. Music: B.K. Rivers, Hinds Plaza (PPL)

B.K. Rivers performs covers of favorites and some original music in this concert on Hinds Plaza. Part of the Listen Local Series. B.K. Rivers is known for their brand of contemporary rock with a blues and country flair. This concert will feature songs from their recently released album "Just Not My Day" and also include covers of popular acts such as The Rolling Stones, America, Grand Funk Railroad and Neil Young. The band is led by Bobby Kochis on vocals and rhythm guitar and features Ed Hermann on lead guitar. Other members include Laura Manfredi on bass, David Ross on drums and Kathy Haynie on keyboard. In the event of rain, the concert will move inside to the Community Room.
