9/11 Memorial/Tribute, PSRC

On Thursday, September 9, 2021, we will be commemorating the twentieth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks with a virtual tour of the 9/11 Memorial & Museum in New York City. Following the tour, we will hold a community discussion about 9/11 hosted by Donald Benjamin, PSRC board member. Participants will have the opportunity to share their memories, thoughts, and feelings about the attacks and their aftermath. We hope that you will join us to honor and remember. Loving and Cooking with your CSA-Cherry Grove Farm

NOFA-NJ, The Suppers Program, and Jammin’ Crepes are working together to offer a Cooking class which celebrates the NJ Organic CSA and seven NJ farms who have a CSA program. Every second Thursday of the month, Tony Kennette will introduce you to another NJ Organic farm, and Kim Rizk of Jammin’ Crepes will cook from the farms CSA box. The charge for this event is $15 for one class or $60 for the whole series.

Staged Reading and Discussion: "After the Dust Settles", Princeton Public Library

Three stories of unresolved grief, healing and renewal following the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Center are explored in this ensemble drama by New Jersey playwright Jason Immordino. Please note that masks are required in the library. The reading will be followed by a moderated discussion with the playwright, director Maureen Heffernan and cast.

Cannabis Task Force Public Meeting

The Cannabis Task Force (CTF) will be holding two meetings to update the public on its work so far. The CTF is working on a recommendation to Princeton Council regarding which type and how many cannabis businesses should be permitted in town and where such businesses could be located. Please join us to discuss this important topic. Community input is welcome and desired!

First meeting, Thursday, September 9, 7:00 p.m. virtually (link will be available on municipal website)

Second meeting, Saturday, September 18 in person outside (weather and COVID permitting, location to be determined; virtual meeting if needed)

Black Voices Book Group - "Frederick Douglass: Prophet of Freedom", Princeton Public Library

During August and September, the group will discuss "Frederick Douglass: Prophet of Freedom" by David Blight. All are welcome. This group meets via 'Google Meet' which works best using the Chrome internet browser.

On Sept. 9-10, join us for REACTIVATING MEMORY Shuffle Along and the Tulsa Race Massacre: A Centennial Symposium. The virtual events examine the 2021 anniversary of these neglected but pivotal events in U.S. history — the landmark musical Shuffle Along and one of the nation's worst incidents of racial violence. This Humanities Council Magic Project, presented by the LCA in partnership with CLASSIX, features panel discussions and performances in the arts. FREE; registration required.
