10th Annual Sourland Spectacular Bike Event

Join us at the 10th Annual Sourland Spectacular bike riding event! This year the event will also feature options to run or hike through the gorgeous Sourland Mountain Region. There will be an in-person group event on September 11th and self-paced cycling, hiking and running from September 12–19. Flea Market, Yardley Friends Meeting

Yardley Friends Meeting (65 N. Main Street in Yardley) will host their 65th Annual Flea Market on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021 from 8 AM to 3 PM (rain date Sept 18). Free parking on site!

Over 55 vendors will be selling antiques, crafts, collectibles, clothing, ceramics, jewelry and much more! Other fun things for the whole family - live music, book sale, food and baked goods. Locals and those from a distance come especially for good finds and a fun time. We continue today with shopping the wares of many vendors, good food and good music in a beautiful outside setting.

New Jersey State Button Society Show and Competition

Celebrating its 80th birthday, the New Jersey State Button Society (NJSBS) will open its Fall Show and Competition to the public, for free, on Saturday, September 11 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Union Fire Company and Rescue Squad hall, 1396 River Road in Titusville.

Historic Stony Brook Walking Tour, Historical Society of Princeton

Before there was a “Princeton,” Quaker families established a community on the fertile ground along Stony Brook. This part-lecture, part 2-mile hike explores the lives of the early settlers and the community they established, while following a portion of the trail George Washington took from Trenton to the Princeton Battlefield. Stops include the Stony Brook Meeting House and Burial Ground, walking a portion of the “hidden” back road into Princeton, and a view of the Battlefield.

Sourland Spectacular, Sourland Conservancy

Lunch, ice cream sundaes, and staggered starts to bike rides, hikes, and runs, on courses covering trails or paved roads. Register. $60. Courses will remain marked through September 19 for those who wish to complete the course solo.

9/11 Ceremony and Memorial Dedication

The Princeton September 11, 2001 Memorial Committee will hold a Remembrance Ceremony at 12:00 p.m., on Saturday, September 11. All are invited to honor the memory of those who perished on September 11, 2001, and the strength and courage of the families and friends who continue to mourn their loss 20 years later.

The commemoration will be the first held at the Princeton community's permanent memorial, located outside the Princeton First Aid & Rescue Squad headquarters at 2 Mt. Lucas Road, near Route 206 and Valley Road. The memorial includes a nine-foot steel beam from the World Trade Center, as well as plaques describing the events of the day and mileage to the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the Shanksville, Pa., crash sites. During the ceremony, the names of the Princeton community members who were lost will be read and first responders will be honored.

The Committee ask those planning to attend to please park in the Community Pool lot, located across from the Princeton Fire Department on Witherspoon Street. Handicapped parking will be available across from the Memorial site, at the lower parking lot of the Municipal Building, accessed from Valley Road.

Opening Reception: Constant Repeating Themes, Arts Council of Princeton
