Academic Pressures and Mental Health Among Immigrant Families, NAMI New Jersey

Stereotypes and stigma surrounding academic accomplishments is common amongst immigrant families. Join the conversation and learn about the academic pressures that our youth face. Panelists are Diana Chao, a 22-year-old first-generation Chinese-American immigrant from southern California who founded Letters to Strangers (L2S) when she was a sophomore in high school after bipolar disorder nearly ended her life; and Pawan Dhingra, Ph.D., professor of American Studies and Faculty Equity and Inclusion Officer at Amherst College.

Tribute to Women Awards, YWCA Princeton

The Tribute to Women Awards is a signature YWCA Princeton event that was established in 1984 and has since honored exemplary women from the Greater Mercer County area who embody the YWCA mission, have demonstrated sustained leadership and exceptional talent, and who have made significant contributions to their professions.

Women in Princeton’s History, Historical Society of Princeton

In honor of Women’s History Month, join the Historical Society’s educators to learn the contributions of some of the diverse and influential women in Princeton’s history, including immigrants, enslaved women, working women, and community leaders. These women played key roles in the town’s development through their service to others. Free; registrants will receive an e-mail with the Zoom meeting login information two days prior to the event.
