Sundays at the Sarnoff: Unsung WWII Code Breakers and Y-Operator Heroines of Bletchley Park

Sunday February 28, 2021
1:30 PM

Join us on Sunday, February 28 for a talk by Joseph Jesson, who will share stories from his research on the RCA AR88 WWII interception receivers which supplied the intercepts at Bletchley Park during World War II. Many of us know the story of Alan Turing and the Enigma machine, but the compelling stories of the female communications intercept Y-Operators and code breaker mathematicians is far less well-known. In his talk, Jesson will detail the behind-the-scenes history of these historic women and their enormous role in the Allied victory in WWII.
