Newcomers & Friends’ Social Coffee - YWCA Princeton

Social Coffees are a great opportunity to meet and greet friends in a relaxed, unstructured atmosphere while enjoying refreshments and coffee. Feel free to stop in, one of our friends will be happy to introduce you to everyone.

Social Coffee is held on the 3rd Thursday of each month from 9.30am to 11.00am, September – June. The event is held at YWCA Princeton’s Bramwell House.

Exploring a Critical Moment in Chinese Politics," will be the topic of a presentation by Rory Truex, Assistant Professor in the Department of Politics and the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University, at the meeting of 55-Plus at 10:00 a.m., Thursday November 21, at the Jewish Center of Princeton, 435 Nassau Street, Princeton, NJ. Everyone is welcome. Admission is free, with a $4 donation suggested.

Hunger and Homelessness in our Community: An Expert Panel, Labyrinth Books

Co-hosted by HomeFront and Labyrinth Books as part of National Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week. Panelists will include Princeton University Professor and poverty researcher Kathryn Edin, Shakira Abdul-Ali, Trenton's Director of Health & Human Services, Mary Gay Abbott-Young, Rescue Mission of Trenton's CEO, Sarah Steward, HomeFront's Chief Operating Officer, and Talitha-Koumi "TK" Oluwafemi, YMCA's Manager of the Greenwood Ave. Farmers Market, who will provide a personal perspective on the climb out of poverty. This event is at 6 p.m., free, open to the public at Labyrinth Books (122 Nassau Street, Princeton).

Gallery of Voices - HiTOPS Photography Exhibit & Reception

In 2018 HiTOPS launched The Faith Initiative, a project that creates opportunities for authentic dialogue between LGBTQ+ youth and faith communities. Throughout the spring we facilitated listening groups of LGBTQ+ young people and religious leaders, documenting their lived experiences navigating the intersection of faith and identity.

From those listening groups, we have created a photography and story exhibit, The Gallery of Voices, a frankly beautiful and powerful representation of the voices of our youth. Please mark your calendars for a reception and exhibit on November 21 from 6 - 8 pm at Bryn Mawr Trust, 47 Hulfish St. Princeton.

The Happenings of Dance, MCCC

When the weather gets colder that means one thing for Mercer County Community College (MCCC) Performing Arts students: Winter Concerts! The college's Academic Theatre and Dance Company will present "The Happenings of Dance," a free student winter dance concert, on Thursday, Nov. 21 and Friday, Nov. 22 at 7:30 pm in the Studio Theatre, adjacent to Kelsey Theatre on MCCC's West Windsor Campus.

The performance is free and open to the public. No tickets are required, but seating in the Studio Theatre is limited. For a complete listing of upcoming holiday performances, visit the Kelsey website or call the box office for a brochure.
