Breakfast Meeting, Business Women Networking - Mercer County

Business Women Networking - Mercer County Chapter is hosting a breakfast meeting at Salt Creek Grille on Tuesday, November 12th from 8:30-10:30 a.m. Beth Siegert, of Beth Siergert and Associates, is the special guest speaker.

With the holiday season soon approaching, many businesses and organizations will begin to hold annual office parties and gatherings. This can be a challenging time of year for individuals with a history of addiction. Join us on Tuesday, November 12th as Beth Siegert, of Beth Siegert & Associates, presents "Breaking the Silence in the Workplace". During this presentation, Beth is going to review the risks and costs of addiction in the workplace, and how employers can properly educate themselves, as well as employees, so they can address this topic with empathy and ease. Toddler Nature Class, The Watershed Institute

Start instilling a love of nature in your child! We provide a fun introduction to animals, plants, and nature in general. You and your toddler will enjoy a song, a story, and a walk outside. Dress for the weather because we always go outside! Children must be accompanied by an adult.

In this first of four events, Sustainable Princeton will bring in energy experts to suggest practical, actionable, evidence-based steps to reduce the footprint of our daily lives. Sustainable Princeton thanks sponsor NRG Energy, Inc., and partner Princeton Public Library. Light refreshments will be served. All events are low waste.

Our panel of industry experts includes: Scott Fischer, Ciel Power, LLC,  Heidi Fichtenbaum, Registered Architect and LEED Accredited Professional,  Kate Warren, Princeton Affordable Housing Board, Forrest Meggers, Princeton University School of Architecture and Andlinger Center for Energy and Environment.  The discussion will be moderated by Christine Symington, Program Director at Sustainable Princeton.

American JEWBU: Jews, Buddhists, and Religious Change In The United States, Jewish Center

Today, many Jewish Americans are embracing a dual religious identity, practicing Buddhism while also staying connected to their Jewish roots. The presentation explores the story of Judaism's encounter with Buddhism in the United States, showing how it has given rise to new contemplative forms within American Judaism—and shaped the way Americans understand and practice Buddhism.

The author traces the history of these two traditions in America and explains how they came together.
