Information Session, CASA for Children of Mercer and Burlington Counties

SPEAK UP FOR A CHILD! Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for Children of Mercer & Burlington Counties is currently seeking new volunteers! CASA for Children of Mercer & Burlington Counties is a non-profit organization that recruits, trains and supervises community volunteers who speak up in Family Court for the best interests of children that have been removed from their families due to abuse and/or neglect and placed in the foster care system. Our volunteers strive to ensure the physical, emotional, and educational well being of these children.

Trenton Wellness Loop Ribbon Cutting with Mayor Reed Gusciora

D&R Greenway Land Trust will celebrate the opening of the Trenton Wellness Loop with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Thursday, November 8, 3 p.m. Trenton Mayor Reed Gusciora, City Council Members, D&R Greenway and project partners will dedicate the new Wellness Loop at the Trenton Battle Monument, 348 North Warren St., Trenton.

Sing the Renaissance! The Community Well

The Renaissance period in Europe saw the beginnings of the polyphonic style, the wide dissemination of printed music, and the composition of some of the most sophisticated and best-loved choral works ever written. In this learn-by-doing mini-course, you will both sing (though open to non-singers too) and learn some of the great music of that period. Each 50-minute class will touch on the major choral music output of the representative composer, as well as the period of music.

Green Tie Gala, New Jersey League of Conservation Voters

New Jersey LCV is excited to host its fourth annual Green Tie Gala on Thursday November 8, from 6:30 - 9:30pm at the Imperia in Somerset.

This evening is a great way to bring together a dynamic mix of New Jersey's conservation leaders to celebrate New Jersey's strong bipartisan tradition of protecting our water, air, and open spaces. We are thrilled to be honoring Deborah Mans, founding Board Chair of New Jersey LCV. As well as Senator Bob Smith, Columbia Law Professor Ed Lloyd, and the Bergen Record.

Putting the Sourlands on the Map with a New Interactive App

The Sourland Conservancy's geographic information systems (GIS) analyst, Kevin Burkman, will present Putting the Sourlands on the Map at the Sourland Conservancy's Train Station Series seminar on November 8th at 7:00pm. Participants will learn about the digital map-making process and how Mr. Burkman developed the Sourland Conservancy Online Atlas, the new interactive mapping application which is now live at www.sourland.org.
