Here’s an opportunity to get into the holiday spirit and wow friends and family. Alicia Vincelette is offering a class to learn the basics of greeting card-making using stamped images, dry embossing, folding techniques, and different coloring mediums. Supplies included. No experience required so give it a try! Fee: $7.00. Registration required; 10 registrant minimum. (If fewer than 10 people register we will notify you and issue a refund.)

PSO Soundtracks Movie Night: In partnership with the Princeton Public Library, the Princeton Symphony Orchestra presents the award-winning film The Red Violin (130 min; Rated R) in the Library's Community Room, 65 Witherspoon St., Princeton, NJ. Directed by François Girard and released in 1999, the movie centers on a red-colored violin which inspires passion as it finds its way through three centuries, over geographic borders, through the hands of successive owners, and, ultimately, onto the auction block in present-day Montreal. Actor Samuel L. Jackson portrays the character of Charles Morritz, a violin expert who seeks to authenticate and value the violin (for Canadian customs assessment). Violinist Joshua Bell served as music consultant and soloist for the film's soundtrack. The film's composer John Corigliano received the 2000 Oscar for Best Music, Original Score. The movie is 130 minutes long, and is rated "R" by the Motion Picture Association of America.
