On Friday, Oct. 5, 2018, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) will designate the U.S. Department of Energy’s Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) an historic mechanical engineering landmark. The designation recognizes landmarks in engineering around the world, encouraging preservation of historically important works and providing a roster of the significance of mechanical engineering to society.

The AARP Driver Safety Program is the nation's first and largest classroom refresher course designed especially for drivers 50 and older. Participants learn defensive techniques, new traffic laws, and rules of the road. Through interacting with one another, they find out how to safely adjust their driving to compensate for age-related changes in vision, hearing, and reaction time. Graduates receive a certificate of completion that entitles them to a reduction in their auto insurance premiums in NJ. Participants must attend the whole day to complete the course.
