Backyard Beach Party & Speaker, Adath Israel Congregation

Adath Israel Congregation, Lawrenceville, NJ, invites the community, to a Backyard Beach Party on Thursday, August 16, 2018, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. There will be music and fun for all ages; a great opportunity to reconnect and/or make new friends. Salads, sandwiches, and sides will be served, along with water ice and fresh fruit. Following the Backyard Beach Party, beginning at 8:00 PM, you will have an opportunity to learn about the Jews of Uganda, known as the Abayudaya. Ugandan, Yonatan Katz Lukato will share with us the history; the struggles to remain Jews during the rule of Idi Amin, their current situation, and visions for the future of the Jewish community in Uganda.
