Birding Field Trip, Washington Crossing Audubon Society

Join Washington Crossing Audubon Society at 8:30 AM on Saturday, June 16 for a free, public birding trip led by John Maret and Andrew Bobe at Assunpink Wildlife Management Area. We will look for resident birds such as blue grosbeaks, orchard orioles and cedar waxwings, as well as butterflies. Directions: Take I-195 East to exit 11 (Imlaystown). Proceed North on Imlaystown Road for 2.6 miles to the parking area at Lake Assunpink. Call Brad Merritt at (609) 921-8964 if additional information is needed or in case of inclement weather.

but stands today in ruin, a haunting world of crumbling cellblocks and empty guard towers.
We have obtained before-hours private access to restricted areas such as Soup Alley, the Operating Room, the Ruins of Death Row and other off-limits areas.
During the day, we'll discuss composition, camera settings and how to shoot in various lighting situations. Together, we will explore this fantastic ruin while we put into practice the rules of composition to create memorable images.
Registration includes one hour private tour, admission and tripod fees ($30 value)

Help the Sourland Conservancy and Montgomery Friends of Open Spaceremove invasive plants, overgrown brush, trash, etc. from Montgomery's newest park! Tools and gloves will be provided, but you're welcome to bring your own if you prefer. Bring a water bottle and wear a hat/sunscreen, long pants, long sleeves and sturdy boots. The East Village has been a symbol of counterculture in New York City since the 1950s. Once synonymous with beatniks and later with punk rock, the neighborhood today is a unique mix of people and cultures, music and art.
During the day, we will explore Alphabet City and other notable East Village spots, learning to identify a good street photo. We'll work on striking the right balance of storytelling and technique, from camera settings to lighting and composition and discuss strategies for photographing candid scenes versus posed street portraits.
