Plants with Attitude, Sierra Lecture

Bruce Crawford, Director of the Rutgers University Gardens, will discuss the breeding program at the award-winning Rutgers Gardens, a nationally-renowned botanical complex, and how the future of horticulture is grounded in the past. His presentation, which will include beautiful images from Rutgers Gardens, also will include a discussion of how plants are selected based on their historical, scientific, environmental, and aesthetic values. The extensive gardens include ornamental tree, holly, and shade tree collections; a tribute, display, pollinator, rain, water conservation, rhododendron and azalea gardens, and a bamboo forest, among others.

Mercer County Community College – Student Center/Welcome Center – Room SC 104 (first floor). Easy parking close to building. Use the Hughes Drive entrance - parking is straight ahead at the Student Center. Security arm to parking will be up. Follow Sierra signs to room. Sponsored by the Sierra Club NJ - Central Group.
