Princeton Photo Workshop: Digital Photography Part 2..Taking Better Pictures

Do you love to take pictures? Do you want to learn how to make your pictures better? This is a hands-on class for students which takes you to the next step in your digital photography through learning and practice. After a brief review of camera settings, we will investigate how to use composition and lighting and practice what we're learning to hone our new skills. You'll leave the class with more confidence to develop your own style as a photographer.

Fairy Festival, The Watershed

Come to the Fairy Festival on the Watershed Reserve in Pennington!  Celebrate with the Rainbow Fairies, Woodland Fairies and Forest Elves...join them in a dance around the maypole, create magical crafts, construct villages along the Fairy Trail and play in the stream with the Water Sprites!  Fairy finery and gnome haberdashery is strongly encouraged.  No pets or alcoholic beverages.  Registration requested but not required.  The Watershed Center is located at 31 Titus Mill Road in Pennington.  Learn more at or call 609-737-7592.

Princeton Photo Workshop: By Land and By Water: The Lower Manhattan Cityscape

6:00 PM - 9:00 PM

We'll meet at the Jersey City Ferry Dock and hop on the ferry for a short ride to the World Financial Center in Downtown Manhattan. From the ferry we'll have views of Ellis Island, The Statue of Liberty, Manhattan's skyline and the Brooklyn Bridge. After docking, we'll make our way to Battery Park, then up to the World Trade Center's Memorial Pools. As the light changes, we'll talk about composition and camera settings under different conditions. On the return ferry ride we will have an opportunity to make night images of the Hudson River and the New York skyline.

Concentric Circles of Influence: An evening of film, art, and music on July 15, 7:30 p.m., at the West Windsor Arts Center, will feature a short documentary by Ilene Dube called Generations of Artists: Roosevelt, NJ. The film features a central New Jersey arts community that has continued through three generations. Special guest appearances by filmmaker Ilene Dube, and artists Mel Leipzig and Jonathan Shahn who will share a conversation about their artistic relationship, as well as musical performances by the Woe Nellies and The Big Rascals will round out the evening along with an ice cream social. Admission: $13 - $15 at the West Windsor Arts Center, 952 Alexander Road, Princeton Junction.
