The purpose of
Covenant Nursery School is to provide educational and social opportunities
that embrace young children and their families with Christ's loving Spirit,
enabling young minds to explore the wonders of their world.
Classes
are team taught by one certified teacher and one highly experienced assistant
teacher. Children are also encouraged to teach one another.
To foster peer leadership our three and four year olds are placed together
in our nursery class. Our four and five year olds are placed together
in our Pre-K/Kindergarten class.
Nursery Class (3 & 4 year olds)
8:45 - 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday Taught by the director of the nursery school, this highly respected pre-K/Kindergarten class is well established and fully accredited.
Enrichment Program
Following
a period of rest, children participate in centers of choice: outdoor
play, sing-a-longs, story time, computer center, and art center where they
create large art projects such as those frequently featured at the mercer
Co. Library in Ewing.
Additional
Programs
Open to all children, including school aged children attending nearby schools such as Ewing's Parkway Elementary, located across the street. Lunch
Period
Open to all children who bring their own lunches and enjoy this relaxing social time together. Extended

After

Special Projects and Experiments such as "tornadoes in a jar and creating a cloud"; growing plants and tadpoles; and recycling projects that turn junk into works of art. Music/Art/Stories to reinforce academic lessons. Community Service Projects such as adopting a family from the Salvation Army; collecting mittens, hats and baby food for those in need. Intergenerational Activities to encourage older members of our church and community to share their hobbies, talents or stories with our children. Communication and Support for Parents which include: workshops to address our parents' needs: parent/teacher conferences; welcomed parental involvement in classes; and a newsletter. Seasonal Activities to celebrate holidays throughout the year. Children enjoy marching in class parades; watching chicks hatch at Easter; a dramatic reading of the Christmas Story - and much more!
