PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE:
Dear Sisters:

Fall is finally here and as the seasons change, so do our schedules.  Our pace picks up after enjoying the summer doing fun things.  The hectic pace continues until after the Holiday Season.  We've got guest speakers scheduled, and a "Tea" is planned on 12/2 at ETS's Chauncey Conference Center in Lawrenceville.  This "Tea" will be a substitute for our usual Christmas get-together.  These events will take us through the end of the year.   Our plans, thereafter, promises to be very busy, and informative as we line up more guest speakers, plan  Black  History Month, and our Annual Open House where we present scholarships to women attending college.  Also, in June

we give two scholarships to Hightstown High students.  One of these scholarships/book awards is given by Walter and Niambi in honor of Gloria, one of our founding members.

Let's roll up our sleeves, work hard to keep CJNBW going and have some fun along the way.

We look forward to participating, Oct. 7, in the Hightstown Community Fair, which takes place in the downtown business area parking lot on Main Street.

We Look forward to seeing everyone in Oct.

Joyce

CONGRATULATIONS

Wedding Congratulations-  Biharu and Ann's daughter, Senayit exchanged vows with Christopher on 8/13 at Sayen Gardens.  We wish the couple a long and happy married life.

Engaged - Kevin and Regina's son, Gyasi.  We wish him and his bride-to-be, Melissa, the very best.

TIPS

Ice Cubes:  Automatic maker:  First, check the ice-cube bin because the cubes could be picking up odors from the refrigerator.  Use activated charcoal (found at pet stores) as a deodorizer for the refrigerator.  Put several pieces into cleaned-out, plastic butter tub, replace lid and punch holes in it and place inside the refrigerator.  Wash bin with cool soapy water.  Rinse and dry well.

CLOTHING COLLECTION
Clothing (in good condition and clean, for working women) are always needed by the Urban Women's Center, 1201 W. State St., Trenton. If you have large donations, it would be best to contact these agencies and arrange for drop off and to find out if they have the space for large donations. They can use suits and other clothing for men, also.
