PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE:

Dear Sisters,

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY - May 11

As we are fast approaching the end of another year, it is urgent that we get down to the business of a fundraiser to replenish our scholarship dollars.  After giving this year's awards, we will have just about depleted our funds.

Tentatively, we've scheduled the fundraiser for early fall and in the coming weeks, we must finalize the site, time, and whether we'll have a luncheon or dinner.  So, please come to the meeting prepared to nail down our decisions.

It is my hope that we can partner with other local organizations in ways that would make  us all grow stronger.  Using "Next Level Youth" and the African American Parent Support Group at Hightstown High School as

examples,   we could share information in our newsletters and/or support each other with our fund raising efforts. In the case of First Level Youth, we could volunteer to tutor or mentor students, and refer friends to do the same.

At our May 13th meeting, I am pleased that we will have as our guest speaker, Ms. Diane Gerofsky, Mercer County Surrogate.  She will be discussing some very important topics such as Probate, Power of Attorney, Living Wills, etc.  These are issues we need to be aware of or update our knowledge.  So, bring a friend so we can have an evening of learning.

Happy Memorial Day, too, which signals the beginning of summer.

Take care.

Joyce
