PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE:

Dear Sisters:

This is a thank you note as I have come to the end of my term as president.  At our  meeting next week, we will vote to select new officers who will be installed in July.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my tenure as your president, and if I can claim any success at all, it is because of the hard work of the members of CJNBW who individually and collectively spearheaded and ran the many wonderful events and affairs.  Thank you all, especially Hattie, Illean, Jessica, Joyce, Linda, Louise, Ruth and Shirley.  Others have contributed to the good work of the Network, and I am most appreciative.

I am confident that all members will support the incoming Steering Committee

as you have this outgoing Board of CJNBW, and I am sure that we will continue to be a productive and generous organization for many years.

This month’s meeting will feature a presentation that was postponed last fall, led by Eileen Doremus on Alzheimer’s.  We have Hattie and Joyce to thank for this presentation.  Please try to attend the meeting to hear this presenter on this important subject, and bring a friend, or two.

We will celebrate the installation of the new Steering Committee on Sunday July 10th with a tea party at my house.  More information to come later.

TIPS

 Cheese "Hard Facts:

To keep cheese from hardening, butter the end.

To soften hardened cheese, soak in buttermilk.

To prevent mold, store cheese in a tightly covered container with some sugar cubes.

Brush a little oil on the grater before you start grating, and cheese will wash off the grater easily.

GET WELL

Please remember Niambi's friend, William who still needs our prayers and cards.  Call Walter or Joyce if you need his address.  He'd love to hear from us.

5/3/05 - E-mail from Niambi,

"I wanted to thank you and CJNBW for your support during William's battle against Leukemia.  William has been so grateful and touched by everyone's kindness.  His family has been touched also.  The kind gestures from CJNBW reminds me why my mother was part of the organization.  As I am putting the pieces back together from my mother's death, life brings me yet another challenge.  The support from friends and family like CJNBW is one of the many reasons why I have not given up and still hoping for a cure.

Please know that your (CJNBW) prayers, support and encouragement is not going unnoticed.

Love and Blessings,

Niambi"

CONDOLENCES - Eleanor lost her mother in April.  We send our sincere sympathies to the family and wish them well.
