PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE:

Dear Sisters

March brings us:

     Women's History Month

March 8 - Daylight Savings Time begins

Remember to turn your clocks for-

          ward 1 hour.

     March 20 - Spring begins

Welcome to spring which is a time for renewal.  I look forward to spending more time outdoors especially at our local parks.

At last month's meeting we viewed the film "Amazing Grace" which gave us another view of slavery from across the ocean in

Brittan.  One man's persistence in ending slavery paid off after a lengthy battle.

Our March 10th meeting will be devoted to discussing the future of CJNBW.

Please come prepared to discuss this important matter.

Take care.

Joyce

Things to Consider:

  • Don't take yourself so seriously.  No one else does.

  • You are not so important that you have to win every argument.  Agree to disagree.

  • Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.

  • However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

  • No one is in charge of your happiness except you.

2010 U.S. CENSUS - If you are interested in temporary work, you may want to contact the U.S. Census Bureau, as they are in the process (I understand) of hiring a large number of census takers.  The website you should contact is: www.census.gov/2010censusjob/index.phb or www.WUSA9.com.

There will most likely be ads in local newspapers, so be on the look-out.

TIPS for March, 2009

Don't throw out leftover wine.  Freeze into ice cubes for future use in casseroles and sauces.

When boiling corn on the cob, add a pinch of sugar to help bring out the corn's natural sweetness.

Wrap celery in aluminum foil when putting in the refrigerator and it will keep for weeks.

PLEASE KEEP THE FOLLOWING INDIVIDUALS
 IN YOUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS:

Our continued best wishes are sent to the following:  Louise's uncle; Kevin and Regina; Illean's brother, Bill, Lorna's mother, and Ruth's mother-in-law.

Please keep our own Louise in your prayers.

It is our intention to remember all who are ill, lost a loved one, and congratulate members and their families when achievements are made. However, you must let Lois know so mention can be made in the Newsletter.
