PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE:

Dear Sisters,

Another summer is fast approaching and now that winter is behind us for many months, I trust that you will enjoy the warm weather with your family and friends. Have a great summer.

Many thanks to Ms. Diane Gerofsky, Mercer County Surrogate who made a presentation on May 13. She gave us a tremendous amount of important information on Probate, Wills, Living Wills, etc. In case you were unable to attend the meeting, we have lots of data, which Ms. Gerofsky was kind enough to bring. This information will be displayed at our June meeting and you can feel free to help yourselves.

At our June 10th meeting, Hattie (travel) and Ebony (greeting cards) will be talking about their respective businesses. This should be a fun evening where our sisters tell us about

their endeavors. Please invite your friends. More information will follow shortly. This will be our last meeting until September.

Keep in mind that we will be spending some time during the summer planning for the Sept. 14th scholarship fundraiser at the Cranbury Inn. Please carve out some of your time for this effort as everyone's help will be greatly needed in an effort to make this event a resounding success.

Thank you all so much for all that you do to keep CJNBW going.

And a Special Thanks to Liston for all the help he gives us throughout the year.

Tuesday, June3 - 7:30 p.m. - Steering Comm. Meeting. Twin Rivers Library Abbington Dr., E. Windsor, NJ Tuesday, June 10 - 7:30 p.m. - Regular Monthly Meeting at Hickory Corner Road Library, Hickory Corner Rd., E. Windsor (609) 448-1330. There will be a short business meeting, followed by presentations by Hattie Blanchard on her travel business and Ebony Dickerson on her greeting card business.		Tuesday, June 10th - Award Night at Hightstown High School. Our scholarships will be presented along with many others. Walter and Niambi are again giving one of the scholarships in remembance of Gloria, their wife and mother, and one of the founding members of CJNBW. We thank them for their support. Sunday, Sept. 14 - Scholarship fundraiser - Buffet luncheon at Cranbury Inn. More information will be forthcoming over the summer, so mark your calendar now.
COMMUNITY EVENTS
Saturday, June 28 - 4:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. "Caribbean Night" at St. David's Episcopal Church, 20 So. Main St., Cranbury, NJ (609) 655-4731. Cost - Adults - $30; Children - $12. Family package - 2 adults & 3 children under 15 - $85. Please contact the Church, or Shirley, for tickets or further information. There will be great food, steel band and DJ, and a Silent Auction. Come out and have some fun. Saturday, June 7 & 14th - "Advanced Genealogy Research" - 2:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. at Hickory Corner Rd. Library, East Windsor, NJ (609) 448-1330. Caricature artist Alyssa, numerous activities with prizes, music, exhibits, flea market and crafts . Sign up for Tables available for $25 each. NEXT LEVEL YOUTH, a Hightstown/East Windsor based community youth organization needs your support. They have started a tutoring/mentoring program to support the children of Hightstown /East Windsor. They meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. at the Grace Norton Rogers School (Multi-purpose room) in Hightstown. They are currently working with children in grades 3-8. Their focus is homework completion, and general skill building. They bring in guest speakers and are planning a few field trips.

Important Tire Information: Do you know how to determine how old a tire is before you make a purchase for your car? If the tire has, for example, the #604 stamped on it, this means the tire was made at the factory the 6th week of the year 2004; # 4696 means the tire was made the 46 week of 1996. So if you are purchasing tires make sure you check this out as the longer tires sit in the shop, the more prone they are to blow out.

Steering Committee Corner --
This Committee is made up of the officers of the Network. We meet at 7:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at the Twin Rivers Library, 276 Abbington Dr., E. Windsor, NJ., (609-443-1880). Any member can attend these meetings, if so desired.

The Book Club - "Reading Between the Lines."

The next book is Mitch Albom's "For One More Day". The date of our discussion has been changed to Thursday, July 10th - 7:30 p.m. at Marcia's. If you plan to attend let Marcia know (609) 655-0697

TIP for June, 2008

Problem Nails - If your nail has completely ripped off below the skin line, don't attempt to fix it with fakes - putting glue that close to your skin can be irritating. Instead, cut paper tape called Micropore (available at drugstores) to the shape of another, similar-size nail; press on, hold for ten to 20 seconds, and polish. It'll actually look like the real thing.
