PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE:

My dear Sisters:

What a joyous and successful celebration of Shirley Satterfield's life and work on May 2nd! She and her family were so happy and proud, and she has sent us a number of thank you notes. We are fortunate to be associated with this gracious lady! Shirley has also sent us a contribution for our scholarship fund; this gesture was not expected, but it is much appreciated. So many members contributed so much to ensure that the Woman of the Year celebration was the overwhelming success that it was. Thanks again to Linda, Joyce, Shirley, Hattie, Louise, Ruth, Jessica and Illean. If I have forgotten anyone, please remind me, forgive me, and I will right the oversight. As we wind down another

term, we look forward to an enjoyable summer, to return to our work in the Fall. We start with the Golf Outing in October. Jessica is chairing that Committee. We continue with the Open House and recognition of mature women students, possibly in November. Our next monthly meeting is on June 8th. This is a general business meeting, hosted by the Steering Committee. Jessica will outline her plans to date for the Golf Outing, and there will be reports of the Woman of the Year Celebration. As always, we will enjoy food, friendship and networking. Please try to be there, and bring a friend.

 Yours,

Noreen Lois

TIPS

Kitchen Hints - When adding eggs to pancake batter, separate them and mix the yolks in first.  When everything else has been mixed, beat the whites and fold them in at the end.  This will

give a lighter and  more tender pancake.

When you fill muffin pans with batter, fill one of the cups with water and the other muffins won't scorch during baking.
