Trenton Circus Squad “Get On Down!” Fundraiser 2021 March 27

TRENTON, NJ (February 22, 2020) On March 27, 2021, at 7:00 pm Trenton Circus Squad will present its 3rd Annual "Get On Down!" Fundraiser titled Be the Change. This fundraising event will take place virtually however and wherever you can log on and enjoy the experience. Trenton Circus Squad performers are youth ages 12-18 from Trenton and the surrounding Mercer

County area.

The "Get On Down!" fundraiser presented by Trenton Circus Squad will feature an all-Squad virtual performance to raise money for our general operating costs. Contributions will allow Trenton Circus Squad to keep the program open and FREE to all youth, ages 6-18. Before COVID-19, Trenton Circus Squad hosted over 200 workshops and 12 performances at the Roebling Wire Works building each year, entertaining over 2,000 local children and families.

"Get On Down!" is an opportunity for the Squad to expand their creativity and introduce new and innovative ways of presenting challenging, entertaining, and now, socially conscious circus arts performances.

"Get On Down!" Be the Change will be just as high quality and engaging as our in-person experience. In addition to the featured Squad performance, attendees will enjoy highlights of Squad-led circus performances from our new partners at Princeton Friends School, Sprout U., and the Caribbean Centers for Boys and Girls of the Virgin Islands in St. Croix. You'll hear testimonials from Trenton Circus Squad's youth participants, discussing what change means to

them and what types of changes they would like to see in themselves, within their community, and throughout the world. Finally, the Squad will leave you with contemporary circus performances inspired by these social issues, hopefully, inspiring our viewers to "be the change."

At Trenton Circus Squad we are always challenging our youth to take big leaps in life. This year, for the first time, Squad interns will direct acts for our "Get On Down!" Fundraiser and we couldn't be more excited! This year's theme is Be the Change. Our youth have searched their hearts to identify the changes they want to see in the world and now they're speaking their truth through the language of circus. Watching them plan and work with their peers to bring these acts to life is inspiring for people of any age~ Karen Ladd, Lead Coach
