Set in 1944 Chicago, this eye-opening and poignant mystery tells the story of a young woman searching for the truth about her revered older sister's death. The novel brings to focus the struggles of one Japanese American family released from mass incarceration at Manzanar during World War II. On March 13, Dr. Vincent Schleitwiler, Assistant Teaching Professor, University of Washington, will provide historical context for the novel and facilitate a discussion via Google Meet.
