The Mercer County Improvement Authority (MCIA) will be holding a Hazardous Waste and Electronic Waste Collection Event on Saturday, September 21, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Both hazardous waste and electronic waste will be accepted. The event will take place at the Dempster Fire Training Center, 350 Lawrence Station Road, Lawrence Township.

The Delaware River Greenway Partnership (DRGP) is excited to announce a collaborative river cleanup event on September 21, 2024. In partnership with the NJ Clean Communities programs in Hunterdon and Mercer Counties and the NJ Park Service, we are coming together to tackle the litter along the shores of our Wild and Scenic Delaware River. This year’s cleanup will cover twenty areas along the river, stretching from the Delaware Water Gap, NJ, to Duck Island at the Abbott Marshlands in Hamilton. Volunteers will remove trash from along the shoreline, or join an on-water cleanup at the Giving Pond in Bucks County.
REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED: The registration page is linked to our home page, http://www.delawarerivergreenwaypartnership.org. To register, click on a site and additional information about each will be provided along with the required waiver form. Children are welcome and encouraged to help! Registered volunteers should bring insect repellent and water. Comfortable clothing, long pants, and closed-toe shoes are mandatory. Participants will be provided with trash bags and gloves. A complimentary cleanup tee shirt will be provided!

Nearly forty farms and vendors are represented with offerings including seasonal Jersey Fresh produce, mushrooms, sustainably caught seafood, poultry, pastured eggs, freshly milled oats, pickles, sauces, jams, fresh pasta, goats milk products, cheese, breads, baked goods, pastries, pastured meats, vegan savory and sweets, Lebanese salads, Eastern European favorites, Indian simmer sauces and prepared meals, alpaca fiber wear, vegan chocolates, pesticide-free flowers, as well as on-site food trucks with crepes, fresh pressed juices, hot and iced coffee and teas.
Held at the Vaughn Lot at the Princeton Junction Train Station, with plenty of free parking, this gathering space for folks who love good food is known for its wide assortment of offerings and welcoming atmosphere.

Join historian Clifford Zink for a tour of Princeton’s third oldest neighborhood, the Jugtown Historic District. First called Queenston, the area started as a crossroads settlement around 1730. View the architectural evolution of the neighborhood, while enjoying some stories of people who lived and worked here. Locations will include the site of the potteries that gave Jugtown its name, the attempted women’s college in Princeton, and the quarries that supplied stone for the construction of many of Princeton’s buildings. Tour starts in front of the Hook and Ladder Co. firehouse, 27 N. Harrison Street. Copies of the new Jugtown/Queenston booklet will be available to purchase at the printing cost of $12.

The Harvest Fair returns again to the grounds of Hopewell Elementary School on Saturday September 21 from 10AM-4PM. Join us for Trenton River Days, a free event that celebrates the history, culture, and recreational benefits of the Delaware River.
From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 21, local families and community members are invited to South Riverwalk Park near the Trenton Thunder Stadium to enjoy the festivities. The event will feature canoe and boat rides, food, live music, hayrides, fly fishing demonstrations with Trout Unlimited, crafts, and other fun!
This will be an in-person event with educational games and exhibits for hands-on fun. Our Watershed staff will have large tanks filled with varieties of fish that inhabit the Delaware River. We will also explore the water quality of local waterways and learn how the data is gathered and used. Trenton River Days is a partnership of The Watershed Institute, Mercer County Park Commission, Mercer County, ArtWorks, and the City of Trenton.
