Princeton First Aid & Rescue Squad's 5K Run & Walk

Join us for our annual 5K Run & Walk to benefit the Princeton First Aid & Rescue Squad. This new 5K is a rolling course but is net downhill within the picturesque grounds of TPC Jasna Polana ending at the Club House, an exquisite neoclassical country villa that was formerly the country home of J. Seward Johnson and his wife Barbara. The only way to run this USATF Certified Grand Prix 5K within TPC Jasna Polana is to do it for the Princeton First Aid & Rescue Squad.

Hunterdon Land Trust Farmers’ Market

Hunterdon Land Trust opens a new Farmers’ Market season Sunday, May 7 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Dvoor Farm, 111 Mine St. in Flemington. The producers’-only market will run every Sunday through Nov. 19. Shoppers will find organic fruits and vegetables, all-natural meats, fresh-baked breads, cave-ripened cheeses, pies, plants, flowers, wine and more.

Most farmers accept credit cards. Parking is free and easily accessible.

Fall Family Fun Weekends, Terhune's

What better way to celebrate fall than with Pick-Your-Own Pumpkins and Apples! Choose just the right pumpkin for your jack-o’-lanterns or decorations. Kids have fun at the pumpkin painting station. Enjoy pony rides, pedal and play tractors, children’s games & activities, visit the Corn Stalk Maze and Hay Bale Maze, Adventure Story Barn, our barnyard of farm animals and so much more farm fun.

Foraging & Feasting, Cherry Grove Farm

We'll begin by taking a walk around Cherry Grove Farm to identify some fresh edible weeds and, if we're lucky, some mushrooms. These vary according to the season. Herbalist Tish will also discuss some of the medicinal virtues of each plant and show you how to make some delicious vinegars with freshly gathered plants. We will finish by tasting some wild food cuisine, which will be complemented with Cherry Grove's cheeses, and maybe even some herbal cordials.

All-Ages Folk Dance, Princeton Country Dancers

Our family-friendly dance features square dances, contra dances, play party games, other traditional American dances, and sometimes folk dances from around the world; it’s great fun for the whole family, from young children (ages 4 and up) to adults. The dances will be led by our local callers; live music will be provided by the Mixed Age Dance Band. Musicians of all ages and abilities are welcome to join the MAD Band - there is a rehearsal immediately before each family dance. No partner or experience is needed. Covid vaccines and masking are optional. Admission: $7 per person or $20 per family

9th Annual Amazing Pumpkin Carve

The Hopewell Valley Arts Council is proud to announce the return of the Amazing Pumpkin Carve, back bigger and better than ever. In its ninth year, this year the Carve will be like an old-time festival with expanded activities and, of course, outrageously carved giant pumpkins. Visitors can wander through a captivating illuminated walk of creative Halloween fun from Wednesday, October 11 to Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Woolsey Park, Titusville, NJ.

Don't miss your chance to celebrate fall fun in Hopewell Valley while supporting the many talented artists who call this region home. Sharing Authentic History - Informing Today, Shaping Tomorrow, Trent House

The Trent House Association will host its second annual community conversation on democracy on Sunday, October 15, 2023, from 3 to 5 pm. This free event will be held at the Trent House Visitor Center. Space is limited and registration is required at: https://tinyurl.com/TrentHouseOct15. The theme of the 2023 Community Conversation is "Sharing Authentic History - Informing Today, Shaping Tomorrow." Participants will enjoy light refreshments while sharing some of their own stories and engaging in round-table discussion about these questions:

· Why is knowing our past important to strengthening our democracy today?

· Why is it important to have authentic stories – your own and others - told and heard?

· How can we make sure that others have the opportunity to tell their stories and have their stories heard?
