The Friends and Foundation of Princeton Public Library Annual Book Sale will take place Oct. 13-15 in the library’s Community Room. One of the top used book sales in the region, this year’s sale includes thousands of books for all ages and across a wide variety of topics. Most books are priced between $2 and $3, with art books and special selections priced higher.
The event opens with a Preview Sale on Friday, Oct. 13, from 9 a.m. to noon. The first 30 tickets for the Preview Sale will be $20 per person, and the next tickets will be $5 per person. Numbered tickets will be available at the door starting at 8 a.m. Customers enter the sale in numerical order, and the number in the room will be limited to 30 customers throughout the Preview Sale. Barcode scanners will be permitted at the tables, but collecting books to scan will not be allowed.
Starting at noon, admission to the book sale is free for the remainder of the sale. Hours are noon-5:30 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, and noon-5:30 p.m. Sunday.

If you've never tasted fresh, warm ricotta then you're in for a treat. Join us for this hands-on class where you will make your own ricotta. We will discuss the origins of ricotta, the art and science of cheese-making, how to cook with ricotta, how ricotta can be used for both sweet and savory dishes, and more. Then we'll all enjoy a simple lunch of an appetizer, pasta dish, and dessert all made with ricotta, as well as a sampling of some of Cherry Grove's aged cheeses. You will take home your own ricotta and some cannoli that you will make.

The Hopewell Valley Arts Council is proud to announce the return of the Amazing Pumpkin Carve, back bigger and better than ever. In its ninth year, this year the Carve will be like an old-time festival with expanded activities and, of course, outrageously carved giant pumpkins. Visitors can wander through a captivating illuminated walk of creative Halloween fun from Wednesday, October 11 to Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Woolsey Park, Titusville, NJ.

In anticipation of Halloween, join us for this “history and horror” walking tour. Starting at sunset at the entrance to Princeton Cemetery, a tall, thin, spectral figure (your guide) will lead brave participants through town and campus, sharing stories from Princeton’s past that will enlighten the mind – and curdle the blood.
* Bring a flashlight, as it will get dark during the tour. * Recommended for ages 16 to adult. Tickets are $15. Advanced tickets required – no walk ups will be allowed. The number of available tickets will be listed under “Spaces” below. If there is not a box visible, then there is only one ticket remaining.

West Windsor Arts invites you to share in some storytelling fun and Halloween mischief at its "We All Scream" storytelling event on Friday, October 13 from 7 to 9 pm. Bring your favorite Halloween memories to recount in a 5- to 7-minute story for this all-ages event.
The evening will feature a vegan gelato tasting by Mishti Chocolates, prizes for all the storytellings, and a grand prize for the audience favorites. All participants will have the opportunity to purchase full servings of gelato, with a portion of the proceeds supporting West Windsor Arts. The first four storytellers to register will be able to enter the arts center early to save the best seats for friends and family. All other storytellers (for a total of eight) will get a chance to tell their stories on a first-come, first-served basis.
