Warrior Dash - A Benefit for YWCA Princeton's Breast Cancer Resource Center

Join the YW for a Fun Run/Walk and 100 Yard Dash (for children ages 5 and up): Saturday May 13th. Proceeds benefit YWCA Princeton's Breast Cancer Resource Center in its work to help women and their families live with, through and beyond breast cancer. The BCRC provides free programs and services such as wigs, fitness classes, nutrition and healthy eating classes, healing arts classes, support groups, financial resources, webinars on various topics related to breast cancer, one on one support, as well as community outreach and education workshops for various organizations all over New Jersey.

Participants will complete the Fun Run/Walk at their own pace on Saturday, May 13th at 8:00am. Out of state but want to participate? Register for the event and get your steps in on the 13th at your favorite park, trail, on the boardwalk, or in your own neighborhood! You can fundraise and show your support from anywhere. The Kid's 100-Yard Dash will consist of three age categories: 5-7, 8-10, and 11 & 12 year olds. Prizes will be given to the top three participants in each age group.

Annual Mother’s Day Plant/Bake Sale

The Princeton/Pettoranello Sister City Foundation, in partnership with Blooms Garden Center, is holding its annual Mother’s Day plant/bake sale on Saturday, May 13 from 9am to 2pm in the parking lot of the Pettoranello Gardens located in the Billy Johnson Mountain Lakes Nature Preserve. Proceeds will be used to maintain this special spot in the preserve and to help sponsor the PHS Italian exchange program.

LGBTQIA Community Trivia Hike, The Watershed

The goal of this event is to bring LGBTQIA+ community members together to share joy while exploring the trails at the Watershed. The trivia portion of the hike will include questions about the natural environment, The Watershed Institute, and LGBTQIA+ history. The program is open to families and individuals of all ages. Annual Wheat & Sheep Day, Washington Crossing Historic Park

Explore life on a colonial-era farmstead at Washington Crossing Historic Park’s “Wheat & Sheep Day,” being held on Saturday, May 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the park’s Thompson-Neely House & Farmstead.

During this event, attendees will see sheep being shorn of their winter wool coats and then follow the process of washing and carding the wool and spinning it into yarn. Children will receive a take-home activity kit filled with colonial crafts. Tours will also be given of the restored Thompson-Neeley Grist Mill. Shearings will be held on the hour starting at 10 a.m. and mill tours on the half hour from 11:30 to 2:30.

Attendance is limited to 150 people and registration is required for this pay-what-you-wish event (recommended fee is $7). Register at: WashingtonCrossingPark.org/events. Pam's Herb & Garden Class, Terhune's

Come to a FREE herb growing and using workshop at Terhune Orchards. As farmers, we enjoy sharing the skills of how to grow food in the home garden. Owner of Terhune Orchards, Pam Mount, has been growing and using herbs here at Terhune Orchards for over 40 years.

Pam’s class is a great way for home gardeners to learn tips on growing and combining herb plants in the garden. She will discuss herb garden planning, care and maintenance, as well as some tips for using fresh herbs. The class will be held in Pam’s perennial herb garden.
