Join us for a relaxing and creative afternoon. You will be able to enjoy time outdoors, appreciate the warm summer weather, and get to know other friends of NAMI Mercer. Pastels and easels will be provided. This event will take place on Tuesday, August 17 at 4 pm. Location in Lawrenceville, NJ will be emailed with registration confirmation. Per current NJ guidelines, fully vaccinated participants are not required to wear a mask for this program.

Panelists will include essayists and Executive Committee members who contributed to the content of this groundbreaking anthology. They will meet to discuss the importance of the text in describing the origins of hip hop, its historical and cultural impact, and a behind-the-scenes perspective on its growth. Panelists will explore the importance of the genre as a powerful voice of political movements worldwide, and as the gateway to other realms of expressive culture. This discussion will be moderated by NMAAHC's Associate Director for Curatorial Affairs Dwandalyn Reece.
