Martin Luther King Jr. Day - Virtual Day of Service, HomeFront

Honor Dr. King’s legacy by helping local families living under the specter of homelessness. Visit to learn more and/or sign up to:

1. Coordinate a collection drive of urgently needed items

2. Participate in a virtual packing event of hygiene or welcome kits

3. Read and share “Food For Thought” which describes HomeFront’s work and the pandemic’s impact in our community

MLK Day Community Story Hour with JaZams, Arts Council of Princeton

Gather as a family on Martin Luther King Jr. Day for a virtual storytime with jaZams!

jaZam’s Jeff and Dean will treat attendees to some favorite new books celebrating stories of social justice, civil rights, and equality for all people, accompanied by ukelele tunes! Longtime Princeton resident and community volunteer Dana Hughes Moorhead and daughter Eme will join us as special guest readers to share their love of writing and reading with our community. Books featured will include Charlie Parker Played Be Bop by Chris Raschka, I am Every Good Thing by Derrick Barnes, and The Secret Garden of George Washington Carver by Gene Barretta.

Registration is FREE! Save your spot! This 45-minute program is free and open to all.

MLK Day Virtual Panel Discussion, West Windsor Arts Council

"Is Everyone Invited?" MLK Day Panel Discussion

As part of the MLK Day of Service, at 3 p.m. MCCC will present a panel discussion on the Zoom video conferencing platform titled "Is Everyone Invited?" The event will focus on diversity within the family, both immediate and extended" (the community). Panel members include Dr. Pamela Pruitt, executive director of the Rider University Center for Diversity; James White, MCCC success coach; Pamela Price, director of the MCCC Library Services; and Al Lateef Farmer, interim director of the college's Educational Opportunity Fund program. Annual Martin Luther King Day Concert, "We Shall Overcome," Trenton Music Makers Orchestra
