Birds and Mammals: A Nature Scavenger Hunt

Saturday April 25, 2020
8:00 AM

Sustainable Princeton, in partnership with the Princeton University Office of Sustainability, is launching the Birds and Mammals Nature Scavenger Hunt to safely honor Earth Day's 50th Anniversary.

For this hunt, we will focus on identifying all of our feathered and furry friends in our region. You might find robins or squirrels in your yard, while local parks can provide sightings of woodpeckers and beavers. Just be sure to maintain social distance as you go nature hunting. County and state parks are now closed, but Princeton's municipal parks are currently open for walks.

To join us, you only need to create an account with iNaturalist and sign up for the Birds and Mammals of New Jersey project starting tomorrow, April 25. When you find a bird or mammal, use the app to make an observation, or take a picture to upload. If you don't know what you've found, the app helps by sharing suggestions. Check out our frequently asked questions to learn more.
