Read and Explore: Fur, Feathers, Fluff: Keeping Warm in Winter, Terhune Orchards

Terhune Orchards Read and Explore Program is our winter education series, following the popular seasonal Read and Pick Program. For our third Read and Explore program learn about how animals keep themselves warm in winter. We will read two stories about animals; explore the sense of touch with wool, feathers, etc. Each child will make paper bag animal to take home.

Gardening is for the Birds, Lambertville Goes Wild

Lambertville Goes Wild will sponsor Gardening is for the Birds! on Saturday, February 22, from 10 - 11 a.m. at the Philip L. Pittore Justice Center/ACME Screening Room, 25 South Union Street, Lambertville, New Jersey. This program is free and open to all.

Birds need food, shelter, nesting sites and nesting materials in order to survive. During this program you will learn how to make simple changes in your garden that will transform it into a year-round haven for birds by providing these essential elements.

Mary Anne Borge, a naturalist, photographer, and author of the-natural-web.org, will lead the program. Mary Anne is the team leader for Lambertville Goes Wild, an instructor at Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve, a Pennsylvania Master Naturalist, and the associate editor of Butterfly Gardener magazine.

Parent/Child Cooking Class, The Community Well

Polar Bear Plunge at Seaside Heights, Special Olympics New Jersey

Description: Each year, the Polar Bear Plunge at Seaside challenges thousands of brave jumpers from around the state. It's a great way for everyone- individuals, teams, organizations and businesses- to get involved supporting Special Olympics New Jersey. All funds raised go towards programming and events for more than 26,000 athletes statewide.
