Old friends and new are invited to take a three-mile stroll through Lawrence Township this Saturday morning, May 11, when the LHT Saturday Morning Walking Club holds its second get-together. Walkers will meet at Lawrenceville Fuel's parking lot at 16 Gordon Avenue at 9:30 a.m. They will enjoy a neighborhood walk up Gordon Avenue and on to the town's lovely Village Park.
The walking club, a new Lawrence Hopewell Trail initiative to bring people together to enjoy the biking and walking trail that loops through Lawrence and Hopewell Townships, is modeled after book clubs that bring friends together regularly.
The LHT Saturday Morning Walking Club meets on the second Saturday of each month. The goal is to introduce walkers to various parts of the trail in 2019. Each month the LHT will announce the route for the next walk.

Local author Rashad Malik Davis will team up with Veronica Olivares-Weber, Princeton community leader, artist, arts educator, and board member of the Arts Council of Princeton, to launch his second children's book, Carefree, Like Me! Chapter Two: Sacra the Joyous. A celebration of indigenous Mexican culture, the party will feature a live reading, a performance by Kalpulli Huehuetlahtolli, an indigenous dance and education troupe that will perform their Danza Mexica, food, music, and arts activities, including a mini-mural activity about indigenous people, feathered bird wings, and clay pyramids.

Each Kid's Club member will also receive a free treat. If your child is not a PQM Kid's Club member, they can sign up on the spot with an easy to complete application found at the Courtesy Booth. Joining entitles each kid to a free treat weekly, as well as participation in other Holiday Kid's Club Events.
