Sunday March 10, 2019
1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

This walk in Mapleton Preserve will focus on the under-appreciated beauty and variability of trees in winter. If you take the time to look carefully, they can be identified without their leaves, using clues found in buds, fruits, leaf scars, branching patterns and bark. Let's try our hand at it, using field guides and keys. Dress for the weather, and bring binoculars and a hand lens if you have them. This is an intensive workshop, and is limited to 10 people. $20/person for materials. Preregistration required (609-608-6455). https://fpnl.org/

A young orphan and his mates are shipped off from Victorian England to a distant island ruled by the evil King Zarboff. They know nothing of the mysterious trunk in the captain’s cabin, which contains precious, otherworldly cargo. At sea, the boys are discovered by the precocious Molly, a Starcatcher-in-training who realizes that the trunk’s cargo is starstuff, a celestial substance so powerful that it must never fall into the wrong hands. When the ship is taken over by pirates led by the fearsome Black Stache, the journey quickly turns into a thrilling adventure.

Sunday March 10, 2019
4:00 PM

Conductor: Gabriel Crouch

All singers welcome. No auditions. Vocal scores provided. Refreshments at intermission. $10 admission for singers (or annual membership). Free for students and non-singing guests.

4:00 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Princeton, Rt 206 at Cherry Hill Road, Princeton NJ

Members of the community gathered together for the common and joyful enterprise of making music, to sing through for their own pleasure the great works in choral literature, with chorus, orchestra, and soloists as the works require. The meetings are informal readings in which any musically interested person may join the chorus. There are no separate rehearsals and no auditions. Conductors usually do some preparation with the chorus before the sing-through. This varies from minimal snatches for well-known pieces to a complete review for unfamiliar works.  https://princetonol.com/groups/psma/
