Thomas Foley, HiTOPS Senior Education Manager, discusses the changing concepts and understanding around sexual orientation, gender identity and expression that create safe and affirming communities.
During this session, Thomas Foley presents an introduction to terms and concepts related to sexual orientation, gender identity and expression (SOGIE). This changing culture means that the behavior,?expectations,?and outlook of young people?can be?baffling,?frustrating, and?nerve-wracking?for?adults. Thomas discusses how to create affirming, caring, respectful, and safe environments for young people, and how to put awareness into practice. This workshop is for everyone, but will be especially helpful for parents and anyone who works with teens. Be sure to bring your questions.
