There is a handful of musical duos who can say they've been playing together for over 45 years and Trout Fishing In America is one of them. Meeting in the 1970s in Houston, TX, Keith Grimwood and Ezra Idlet were a part of the five-piece band St. Elmo's Fire. When the group dissolved, Grimwood and Idlet formed Trout Fishing in America, named after Richard Brautigan's novel. With Grimwood on upright and electric bass and Idlet playing a variety of guitars, the singer/songwriters built a nationwide fanbase by delivering a percussive, vibrant sound and a dynamic stage presence. TFIA earned critical recognition as an eclectic folk-rock band who writes songs for all ages. The band received four Grammy nominations in the Best Music Albums For Children category, as well as three National Indie Awards, multiple Parent's Choice and NAPPA Gold awards, and The American Library Award.

Stoutsburg Sourland African American Museum (SSAAM) is pleased to announce its inaugural Harvest Home Dinner, a fundraising event honoring the farming roots of the Stoutsburg Sourland community. This event will take place at the historic Reasoner/True House on Saturday November, 16 2024 from 6-8pm.
SSAAM is Central New Jersey's only museum telling the rich local and regional stories of African Americans from the time of the transatlantic slave trade to the present day. With the support of the Preserving Black Churches grant we are honored to continue this work with this latest event which will feature locally-sourced dishes, live music, and powerful storytelling from descendants of the True family and Mt. Zion AME Church members.
Join us for a special Harvest Home Dinner, honoring African American faith and culture through a toast, a three-course meal, and reflections on faith, food, family, and fortitude. Let's come together to celebrate and invest in our shared history and community.
