Meeting of the 55-Plus Club of Princeton, Thursday, September 5, at ten a.m. in person at the Jewish Center, 435 Nassau Street, and via Zoom at https://princetonol.com/groups/55plus/. Deborah Pearlstein, Director of the Princeton Program in Law and Public Policy and Charles and Marie Robertson Visiting Professor of Law and Public Affairs at Princeton University, will speak on "The Democracy Effects of a Polarized Legal Profession." Today, even the profession of law is becoming polarized — weakening the foundational norms that have preserved the law/politics divide on which democracy depends. Professor Pearlstein will discuss how, why, and what might be done about it.
