16th Annual “Run With Rotary”, Montgomery/Rocky Hill Rotary Club

The 16th annual Run With Rotary 5K race and 1-Mile Ramble is on Sunday, April 28, 2024. Registration is at 8:30 AM. Races run until 12 PM in bucolic Skillman Park, in Montgomery Township, New Jersey. Hosted by the Montgomery/Rocky Hill Rotary Club, Run With Rotary is a preeminent charity race in central New Jersey. The Montgomery/Rocky Hill Club is a member of the world-wide Rotary service organization, whose motto is “Service Above Self.”

Run With Rotary, Montgomery Mayor's Wellness Campaign

Lace up your sneakers and join the Mayors Wellness Campaign team at the Run with Rotary. There are four weekends until April 28, which means there is still plenty of time to hit your stride before the big day. We have groups running the 5K race and rambling through the one-mile walk. The weather is clearing up next week with warm days that will make a daily walk or jog enjoyable. Grab a friend and head outside to get moving for your physical, social and emotional health.

Join family and friends for our winery weekend music series this Spring. Set in our wine orchard among 100-year-old apple trees, it is the perfect way to relax, connect, and toast the new season. Enjoy a glass of one of our award-winning wines, sit back, and listen to live music from local artists each week. Styles range from Jazz and Blues to Folk and Rock. The music is from 1 pm-4 pm. Light fare available. Bring the entire family to enjoy fresh air on the farm, stop in the farm store for fresh produce, baked goods, and local gourmet items, and stroll on the farm. Barn Door Cafe is open on weekends for lunch fare, homemade treats, and ice cream. Winery hours 12 pm-5 pm. No outside food or pets, please. After a bad batch of vichyssoise killed off fifty-two of the Little Sisters of Hoboken, the survivors emptied the coffers to bury the deceased, but ran out of cash before the last few bodies could be laid to rest! (Don’t worry – they’re in the kitchen freezer!). To raise funds they decide to put on a variety show. Will their prayers be answered before the health department discovers their secret? With hilarious talent acts, tongue-in-cheek musical numbers, and help from the audience, the show – the 3rd longest running Off-Broadway musical -- will tickle your fancy. $26/$24

A Talk on Women Explorers of the Victorian and Edwardian Eras, CMAP

The Middle East captured the popular imagination of England of the Victorian and Edwardian eras, and held a special allure for three women famous for their brains and courage: Lady Hester Stanhope, Lady Jane Digby, and Gertrude Bell, CBE. The exploits of these women explorers is the topic of a talk by Ronald Schnur, a long-time Princeton resident. Free; refreshments served.

Building Princeton (with LEGO), Historical Society of Princeton

Visualize the town and campus as you’ve never seen them before! Working from photographs, teams recreate iconic Princeton structures out of LEGO building blocks. Choose among more than 50 historic structures, famous residences, community buildings, and houses of worship to construct a scale model. When complete, models are placed on a 30-foot map of Princeton, providing an amazing aerial view.

Fun for all ages, Building Princeton is designed to increase awareness of the town’s rich architectural heritage. Teams can include up to 4 people, with at least one adult per group. Led by architect Stephen W. Schwartz from Building Blocks Workshops, LLC, this event is featured in other cities, including Montclair, Morristown, and Summit.
